5 Tips to “Pounce” Like Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods is a living legend, there is no question about that. In recent years, the GOAT has not shown up in competition. Some say that Tiger Woods is not the GOAT, but there is no doubt that he is. The Valspar Championship was a breathe of fresh air for Woods, he had the ‘god like” aura that we’ve grown so accustomed to seeing.

So now, lets discuss 5 ways to pounce on your weekend buddies every round like Tiger Woods.

1. Look like a Million Bucks
Off the golf course Woods may look like the middle aged dad he is, but on the golf course he looks like Connor McGregor stepping out of his Bentley in a mink. We have all heard the expression “when you look good, you feel good.” You need a good “Sunday Red” outfit, (disclaimer) it does not have to be red and black like TW. Look like a Pro, because when you look like a pro you will start to feel like a pro. These golf outfits don’t have to be expensive at all, some of these items can be found at Goodwill, Ross, or even Amazon.

2. Walk As If You Own the Golf Course
Firstly, money has nothing to do with it, Confidence is the key. As you walk out of the pro shop to warm-up, hold your head high, stick your chest out, have a nice long stride. Watch TW strut down the fairway and you will see what I’m talking about.

3. Warm-Up like a Champ
Hitting balls on the range before a round is not to show off your skills. It is not a time to expect to hit the ball perfectly. Warming up is exactly what it sounds like. Let me ask you a question, would you warm-up to workout by starting with 500lbs? Probably not. Unless you are a world-class body builder. So don’t do the same with golf, lifting 500lbs before a workout is like expecting your first 5 shots before a round to be pure. There is no need to place that kind of pressure on yourself. Start with hitting some chip shots, this is how Woods and many other Pro Golfers start their warm-up session.

4. Club Twirl before every shot
We all know how smooth and effortless Tiger’s club twirl is after he makes a great swing. Why does he twirl the club when he doesn’t even know where the ball is going to land? …Truth be told, it doesn’t matter where the ball lands when you make a great swing. On your next round, before you make a swing, try this. Imagine that you already hit a great shot. Imagine that you already made the 25ft putt you are about to stroke. Imagine that you already shot the best round of your life before you take your first tee shot. Try this simple tip and watch how quickly you reach your next milestone in golf.

5. Scrambling is a part of golf
One of the things that makes TW who he is, is that sometimes he seems like he could make a par from the depths of hell. If you play golf, you will have to play from the forest from time to time. It’s the ugly side of the game, but a part of the game nonetheless. Learn to enjoy that part of the game, it is the one part that allows you to be a magician, it allows you to turn nothing into something. Sometimes playing from positions when all of the odds are stacked against you are the most satisfying shots in the game.

Having fun on the golf course is the most important thing you can do. The reason we all play golf is for enjoyment, not to stress ourselves out. On your next round out, I challenge you to try these 5 Tips. You will see immediate improvements in your game and shoot the greatest rounds of your life. When you do shoot your best round, come back and post your score, share your experience.
