Lazyman’s Guide to Meditation

Do you feel like your round is going great until one bad shot, or one bad hole and just that quick your great round is in the toilet? The main cause for this, is a loss in focus, meediation is here to the rescue. Meditation sounds like a big waste of time, you want me to sit still and do nothing for an hour?? NO WAY! If you are anything like me, you don’t feel like you have time to meditate. Let me be the first to tell you, meditation does not require much time and surprisingly, it is a lot tougher than it sounds. I didn’t believe how helpful meditating was until I tried it for a week straight. This is a Lazyman’s guide to meditation.

Let’s start with timing, I’ve found that waking up just 10 mins earlier than usual to practice meditation has changed my life and golf rounds. When I practice meditation first thing in the morning, it gives me less time to make excuses about not having the time to meditate. Yes, I even meditate before I brush my teeth. I look at it this way, my breathe functions as an aromatic encessnce.

As I said, you do not need a lot of time to meditate. As little s 10 mins will make you much more focused on your golf rounds. A self-guided meditation can be very challenging to start with. For this reason I suggest you try guided meditations. These can be found all over YouTube for free. Guided meditations feature soft organic musical with a spiritual guide. They will coach you through the journey through your mind.

As you get better and better at meditation you will be able to go for longer bits of time, then progress to self-guided meditation. Meditation allows you to feel more in control of your mind and golf game. Later in golf rounds, its a lot easier to lose focus in your shots and strategy. Meditation teaches you how to be patient, how to relax, and how to rebound after a bad shot or hole.

Add this to you practice regime, and you will not be disappointed. There are so many different was to meditate, find which one suits you best.
